Welcome! The Dukan Diet is a high-protein diet designed by Dr. Pierre Dukan. The diet allows you to eat an unlimited amount of certain lean, high-protein foods. Much like the Atkins diet, the Dukan Diet suggests a high-protein, low-carb lifestyle that sends your body’s fat-burning power into overdrive.
I have been using the Dukan Diet on and off for the past several years with great results. Although I read the book before I began the diet, I found that I had several questions as I tried to prepare meals and find recipes and snacks. I’ve started this website as a resource for all Dukaners to get their questions answered.
Dukan Diet Basics
If you haven’t already, be sure to get a copy of the official book by Pierre Dukan. I feel that the book is truly required reading before starting the Dukan Diet. The book provides a great overview of the philosophy and science behind the program, and walks you through each of the four phases so that you know exactly what to expect as the diet progresses.
If you are just starting out, I suggest visiting the overview of Dukan Diet Phases. From there, visit the Attack Phase page, which will give you an overview of the first several days of the program, as well as a list of Attack Phase foods. Once you are ready to dive into the diet, be sure to visit the recipe page for approved recipes that will help keep you on track and losing weight.
As you progress through the diet, you will likely have questions pop up about specific foods. Our “Can I Eat…?” section provides some great tips on foods that you can and cannot eat during the diet, and gives you an idea of what to expect if your favorite food is not on the “allowed” food list.
Please let me know if you have a question that isn’t addressed here. If you have a question, chances are that others do too!
