The second phase of the Dukan Diet is the Cruise phase. As seen below in the Dukan Diet Cruise Phase food list, you will introduce vegetables into your diet. The diet calls for alternating pure protein (PP) days with PV (protein + vegetable days). I found that after the Attack phase, vegetables were a very welcome addition!
As in the attack phase, all food should be prepared without additional fats or oils. This means you can steam, boil or bake the veggies or just eat them raw. My personal favorite is eating the veggies raw with garlic salt. This adds a nice kick to the vegetables and has absolutely zero fat!
You can also try baking the veggies with your favorite spice. My personal favorites are lemon pepper or seasoned pepper. Just spray lightly with Canola oil or another baking spray, and season to taste with your favorite seasoning. Bake in the oven at 400 degrees until slightly brown and cristpy.
Remember that all of these can be eating in unlimited quantities on PV days.
Dukan Diet Cruise Phase Food List
- All proteins allowed on the Attack Phase
- Green beans
- Summer squash
- Carrots (as long as not eaten in excess)
- Beets (as long as not eating in excess)
- Oat bran – 2 Tablespoons per day
If a vegetable isn’t on this list, it isn’t allowed during the Dukan Diet Cruise Phase. Notably, you will need to stay away from starchy vegetables, such as potatoes, corn, peas, beans and lentils. All fruits are also forbidden, except tomatoes. Remember that avocados are fruits and are therefore not allowed. Finally, grains are not allowed, including rice, quinoa, barley, wheat and millet. Don’t worry – you’ll being adding these back in during the next phase.
